Vol. 386 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

109.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the grant aid which is available from the EC for establishing pig producer groups.

Grant assistance is not available in Ireland at the present time for pig producer groups.

The EC scheme of aids for producer groups is now being extended to four production sectors (beef, sheepmeat, cereals, potatoes) in Ireland following a decision in the Council of Ministers in December 1988.

110.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether foals out of appendix draught mares by Irish draught horses will be eligible for the £400 foal subsidy in 1990; and if this amount will be paid in one lump sum.

The terms of the Irish draught foal subsidy scheme are currently being drawn up and when these are finalised an announcement will be made.
