Vol. 387 No. 7

Written Answers. - Wexford Association Funding Application.

153.

asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the tremendous work being done by the Wexford branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association; to the fact that some years ago the branch bought a bus which they maintained voluntarily and that this bus may no longer be used; and if he will provide funding for the purchase of another bus to allow the association to continue with their good work and to ensure that those in wheelchairs enjoy the facility of such a bus.

I am well aware of the excellent work being done by the Irish Wheelchair Association throughout the country. I have already given substantial grants from national lottery funds to the association, £50,000 in 1987, £100,000 in 1988 and £75,000 from my Department's 1989 allocation from the lottery.
