asked the Taoiseach if he will circulate a list of projects aided under the auspices of the Heritage Council; and the amount of grant in each case.

The National Heritage Council was formally launched on 5 September 1988. Since then the council has allocated grant assistance in respect of the following projects:

1. Tuam Excavations:—post excavation work associated with archaeological excavations at the Chair of Tuam

2. Fernhill Gardens, Sandyford, County Dublin:—replanting and improvement work at the Gardens

3. Carrigglas Restoration Committee:—restoration work on the Gandon double Farm and Stable Yard buildings at Carrigglas Manor, County Longford

4. Roscommon County Council:—restoration work on the roof of the Military Barracks, formerly the King House Boyle, County Roscommon

5. Irish Wildbird Conservancy:—towards the cost of protecting the colony of Roseate Terns on Rockabill Island, County Dublin, during the period April-August 1989

6. Crann. The Woodland Management Trust:—towards the cost of the Crann sna Scoileanna project

7. Wexford Archaeological Excavations:—post excavation costs associated with excavations at Bride Street-South Main Street, Wexford

8. Clonakilty Macra na Feirme:—reconstruction of the Ringfort at Lisnagun, Clonakilty, County Cork

9. Kilkenny Archaeological Society:—restoration work on the Third House of the Rothe House Complex

11. Na Píobairí Uilleann:—restoration of plasterwork on two ceilings at 15 Henrietta Street, Dublin, headquarters of Na Píobairí Uilleann

12. Institution of Engineers of Ireland:—contribution to IEI project to identify, record and classify work of engineering heritage throughout the country

4. Douglas Hyde Interpretative & Commemorative Centre:—restoration of Church at Frenchpark to provide above Centre and Summer School. (Part of this grant will be met from the European Regional Development Fund)

6. Museum of Labour History, Dublin:—development of a Museum of Labour History at Beggars' Bush Bar-racks

8. Spanish Armada Commemoration Society:—to defray the costs of an International Symposium held in Sligo from 4-9 September 1988
