asked the Minister for Justice if the ministerial advisory group on the Garda Síochána under the chairmanship of a person (details supplied) has offered him advice on the examination of administrative procedures within the Garda Síochána; if he will give details of that advice; if he has had discussions with the Garda Commissioner on this subject; if he plans to implement changes following receipt of that advice; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As I indicated in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 27 of 22 February, Official Report, Column 1173, it is the intention that the group in question will present to me, informally and at any time they wish, any advice they have to offer in accordance with their terms of reference. I also indicated in that reply that the group has, as a first project, undertaken an examination of administrative procedures within the force. I have not as yet received advice from the group arising from that examination, which is still in progress.
