The meeting which the Deputy refers to was a meeting consisting of a number of constituents who are employed locally by CIE. The meeting consisted of wide-ranging discussions concerning the school transport scheme together with suggestions on how the scheme could be improved. During the discussions the possible transfer of my Department's school transport section to the Department of Tourism and Transport was mentioned. However, there are no plans by me as Minister or by my Department to have the school transport section transferred to the Department of Tourism and Transport. I would also add that there have been no discussions at any time between the two Departments regarding this matter.
