Vol. 390 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

50.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason the full amount of headage grants has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named has, in fact, been overpaid by some £28 under the 1988 disadvantaged areas schemes and it is intended to recover this small overpayment from cattle or sheep grants due to him for 1989. The overpayment arose because of his high stocking rate. His claim for livestock headage grants exceeded the allowable limits of £30.66 per acre of the forage area devoted to grazing beef cows and sheep and £18.21 per acre of the forage area devoted to grazing cattle other than beef cows.
