Vol. 390 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Kerry Coláiste Lán-Ghaeilge.

112.

asked the Minister for Education the reason full facilities are not made available for Coláiste Lán-Ghaeilge Dara Leibhéil, Coiste Ghairmoideachais, Bhaile Thrá Lí, County Kerry.

119.

asked the Minister for Education the additional resources which are being provided to Tralee Vocational Education Committee to provide materials and equipment for the new second level college, Aonad Lán Ghaeilge, Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 112 and 119 together.

In January of this year I decided to grant separate school status to the existing Aonad Lán-Ghaelach operating as part of Tralee vocational school under the aegis of Town of Tralee Vocational Education Committee.

The Aonad Lán-Ghaelach has been accommodated in the new vocational school building, Tralee, which has adequate facilities and where there is a large amount of surplus accommodation. It is my Department's intention that the newly created all-Irish post-primary school, still operating under the aegis of Town of Tralee Vocational Education Committee, will continue for the present to be accommodated in the vocational school building and, accordingly, the provision of substantial additional resources should not arise at this stage.
