asked the Minister for Justice if, in the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1 where a nolle prosequi was subsequently entered, the person is entitled to any or all of the bail money to be returned.
Written Answers. - Refund of Bail Money.
208.
I understand that bail money is returned by court offices on receipt of an application from the person who lodged it, on conclusion of the case, where the conditions of the bond have been met. Where there is a doubt — as in this case — as to whether the conditions have been met, it is at the discretion of the court as to whether the bail money can be returned. It is suggested that the person concerned contact his solicitor with a view to making the necessary application to the court.
