Vol. 392 No. 1

Written Answers. - Carysfort College.

361.

asked the Minister for Education, arising out of the recent sale of the Carysfort complex at Blackrock, County Dublin, if she will outline the plans, if any, there are for the educational facilities on the site; and if she will urge that the college be utilised for integrated educational purposes.

As the Deputy is aware, the identity of the purchasers of the Carysfort complex, including the educational facilities on the site, has not yet been disclosed. I am aware of reports of public statements by representatives of the purchasers to the effect that they intend to look into the possibility of State involvement in the operation of a third-level college in the premises. Until I am approached and any proposals made to me have been examined I am not in a position to make any further statement in the matter.
