The board of management was given sanction by my Department on 3 October 1989 to appoint a 6th assistant teacher. The Diocesan Panel for Kildare and Leighlin is clear and the vacancy is being filled by open competition. The appointment of a teacher is a matter for the board of management who must follow my Department's regulations in respect of advertisement and interview procedures.
