Vol. 392 No. 1

Written Answers. - Farranfore (Kerry) Airport.

406.

asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport when he intends to give duty-free status to Farranfore Airport in County Kerry.

The question of granting duty-free status to airports is a matter for the Revenue Commissioners. In the case of Farranfore Airport, I understand that an application by Kerry County Airport Company Limited for duty-free facilities is under active consideration by the Revenue Commissioners at present and that a decision in the matter will be made as soon as the pattern of international traffic at the airport has become more apparent.

I have already publicly indicated my support for duty free facilities for Farranfore Airport and my views on the matter have been brought to the attention of the Revenue Commissioners.
