asked the Minister for Justice the total number of gardaí in each of the following Garda stations in County Dublin for each year from 1980 to 1989 inclusive: (a) Blackrock, (b) Dún Laoghaire, (c) Dalkey, (d) Kill-o'-the-Grange, (e) Cabinteely and (f) Shankill.

The particulars sought in the question are set out in the following table. The precise allocation of Garda manpower to individual stations varies from time to time in the light of changing needs and circumstances. The numbers assigned to Dun Laoghaire Garda station, which is the divisional headquarters for the eastern division of the Dublin Metropolitan Area, and to Blackrock station, which is a district headquarters station, include specialist staff and units that operate on a divisional or district basis.

Compilation of this information would require the diversion of gardaí and staff of my Department from more pressing duties, for an inordinate period of time, which would not be justified.
