asked the Minister for the Environment the funds which have been allocated for Lough Easkey water scheme, Phase 2, in County Sligo; the funds which are available for work on the scheme in 1989; the parts of the plans for the scheme, as submitted by Sligo County Council, which he has sanctioned; if all of the scheme has not been sanctioned, his proposals for the remainder of the work; the total cost of the scheme as submitted by Sligo County Council; when work will start on Phase 2; the amount of the work which will be completed this year; and when the entire scheme will be completed.

The submission of the county council's proposals in relation to the award of a contract is awaited in my Department. The need to provide funds in the current year for the scheme will be examined in the light of those proposals.
