My Department have received 86 applications for licences to engage in mariculture in the Kenmare River area; of these 18 are in respect of Ardgroom Harbour, 32 are in respect of Kilmakillogue Harbour, whilst 36 are in respect of the Kenmare River proper.
To date four licences have issued, three in respect of locations in Kilmakillogue Harbour and one in respect of a location in Sneem Harbour, Kenmare River. I am in the process of finalising decisions on the remainder of the applications and I expect that this exercise will be completed in the near future.
