Vol. 392 No. 4

Written Answers. - Land Certificate.

122.

asked the Minister for Justice the reason for the delay in issuing a land certificate to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will issue same through the Land Registry.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that there is no application pending in the Land Registry under the folio number quoted by the Deputy. There is, however, an application pending for the issue of a duplicate land certificate made on 10 August, 1984 by a solicitor acting for one of the persons mentioned in the details supplied by the Deputy. By letter dated 7 September, 1984 the registry informed the solicitor of the requirements necessary for the issue of a duplicate land certificate. In May, 1988 the applicant's solicitor sought confirmation that the original land certificate had not been retained in the registry. Following searches, it was confirmed to the solicitor on 19 July, 1988 that the original land certificate had not been retained in the registry. On 17 May, 1989 the applicant's solicitor lodged an affidavit and the appropriate fee for the issue of a duplicate land certificate. The registry indicated to the solicitor on 1 June, 1989 that further requirements were necessary. To date a reply has not been received in the registry.
