asked the Minister for the Marine if he requested and if he received a development plan from the North Western Regional Fisheries Board for fisheries in Counties Sligo, Leitrim and Mayo; the total cost of implementing these programmes over a five year period; and the EC Structural Funds which will be provided by his Department for the implementation of these programmes.

asked the Minister for the Marine the moneys which are being provided under the EC Structural Funds for conservation and development of inland fisheries.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 111 and 112 together.

EC Structural Funding for the development of angling will now be made available under the operational programme for tourism details of which are expected to be announced shortly by my colleague the Minister for Tourism and Transport.

Development plans were requested and received through the Central Fisheries Board in respect of all fisheries regions including the north western. The total cost of implementing the full North Western Regional Programme was estimated at £9.315 million over five years.
