The second instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will authorise the payment of the balance of a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Meath who has been deprived of this amount because of the manner in which his final certificate was completed and now finds himself in serious financial circumstances.
The grant paid was calculated on the basis of the actual cost as furnished by the applicant of eligible works carried out. In the light of the information furnished by the Deputy, further clarification of the costings is being sought from the applicant.
