asked the Minister for Health, in light of the interpretation of the consultants common contract given by the courts in a case (details supplied) if it is reasonable and realistic to have the certification process of the consultant's contract take place at an indefinite period after the probationary year has expired; whether the potential enormous cost and time involved in a quasi-judicial inquiry is a suitable way of making an appointment permanent; and whether he has proposals to simplify the certification process.
