asked the Minister for Education if the leases for national schools may be inspected by the public.

The Chief State Solicitor has advised that leases for national schools are a confidential matter between the relevant parties. The general public has no right of inspection except with the agreement of all the parties to a particular lease or by virtue of a court order.

asked the Minister for Education the action she or her predecessors have taken in respect of leases to any national schools where for a period of three years continuously the demised premises have ceased to be used for education.

No action is considered necessary by my Department in respect of leases to any national schools where for a period of three years continuously the demised premises have ceased to be used for education. National schools are closed only on the instructions or with the consent of my Department having regard to all the circumstances of each individual case.
