asked the Minister for Education the number of days of uncertified sick leave which secondary teachers may take without loss of pay; and the equivalent arrangements (a) for senior officials in her Department and (b) primary and vocational teachers.

The number of days of uncertified sick leave which may be taken, without loss of pay, is (a) Secondary teachers, ten school days in any quarter, only four of which may be taken consecutively; (b) Established civil servants, seven days in any 12 months, only two of which may be taken consecutively; (c) Primary teachers, 31 days in a calendar year, only three of which may be taken consecutively; (d) Vocational teachers: (permanent whole time), seven days in a year, only three of which may be taken consecutively.
