Twenty seven staff, who are to be employed in the Air Traffic Control Service, are being recruited at present. Proposals for the recruitment of additional staff are among the matters being considered as part of a mediation process between my Department and representatives of the Air Traffic Control staff. The mediation is taking place under the Chairmanship of Mr. Tom McGrath, deputy chairman of the Labour Court. Pending the outcome of the mediation process, I do not wish to comment further at this stage.
