asked the Minister for the Environment if he will introduce legislation requiring the publication of inspector's reports on oral hearings in planning appeals cases, in view of the recent revelation that the recommendations of the inspector who conducted the oral hearing were overturned by the Planning Appeals Board in the Radio Tara case.

I have no proposals at the present time to introduce legislation requiring the publication of inspectors' reports on oral hearings in planning appeals cases.
The determination of planning appeals is devolved to an independent appeals body, An Bord Pleanála. The inspector's report is only a part of the decision-making process and it is not the practice that such reports be made available to the public.
