asked the Minister for the Environment if a special grant can be given to Galway County Council to repair the recent storm and flood damage to the bridge at Clough-brack, Clonbur, County Galway which has to be demolished as a result of the damage caused; and, in view of the fact that £1 million was provided in last year's Estimates for similar storm damage works in Counties Wicklow, Cork and Donegal, if he will grant aid the repair work to this bridge.

On 23 October 1989, my Department informed Galway County Council that the question of providing funds for the replacement of this bridge will be considered when the road grant allocations for 1990 are being determined.
