asked the Minister for Education if she has any plans to extend the inadequate back-up service available to hearing impaired children attending primary schools in order to encourage and speed up the process of their integration into these schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The back-up service available to hearing impaired children in order to encourage their integration into ordinary national and higher level schools will be among the subjects to be considered by a review group which I intend to establish in the near future with the object of making recommendations on future policy in this general area.
