Proposals for a Clinical Trials (Amendment) Bill have been prepared by my Department following the report of the review group into the working of the Clinical Trials Act, 1987, and subsequent consultations with interested parties. These proposals are now being examined by the Attorney General for his approval and final drafting by the parliamentary draughtsman.
I hope to be in a position to introduce the amending legislation into the Seanad in the very near future.
