Vol. 394 No. 8

Written Answers. - Tax Deductions for Special Payments.

Seán Barrett

Ceist:

128 Mr. S. Barrett asked the Minister for Finance if any special arrangements can be made in relation to tax deductions for special payments, such as that made to employees of an Aer Lingus Travel Shop who were each awarded £350 by the Labour Court Reconciliation Commissioner as compensation for carrying out their duties while reconstruction work was being carried out in their offices over a five month period and who subsequently received on average only one-third of the sum awarded because of tax deductions.

Changes in income tax are matters for consideration in a budgetary context.
