303 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Justice if he will make a statement on the circumstances surrounding the attempted bank raid at Athy, County Kildare; whether the report of the investigation will be published; and whether whatever resources are required to implement the recommendations of the report will be provided.
I have already issued a public statement in relation to this attempted armed robbery, in which I referred to the fact that the Garda Commissioner had appointed two senior Garda officers, with other support staff, to conduct an investigation into all aspects of the occurrence. A detailed report will be prepared on the matter and the Deputy can be assured that this report will be given full consideration and that any action deemed appropriate will be taken.
