Ceist:

25 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Taoiseach if he will give the names of the 11 Ministers and Ministers of State who were members of local authorities who have resigned; and the steps he is taking to ensure that the principle of resignation from membership of local authorities by office holders is adhered to by those who have not resigned.

The position as regards membership of local authorities remains as I outlined it to the Deputy on 25 October 1989. I have drawn the attention of those concerned to the general principle which applies in these circumstances.
