394 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health whether the EC is considering a directive in relation to natural medicines which would restrict their availability in Ireland; and his views on the contention that this would withdraw from circulation some medicines that have proved very helpful to individual patients.
As part of the development of the Internal Market, the Commission of the European Community is considering the need for a directive dealing with homeopathic medicinal products. However, no draft directive in relation to such products has yet been published and until such publication takes place it is not possible to indicate the effects, if any, the proposed directive may have on the availability of such medicines in Ireland.
