Ceist:70 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Finance if it is proposed to proceed with the drainage of the Finn/Lackey River, County Monaghan, when the Blackwater scheme is completed.

No decision can be taken on whether a scheme should be carried out on Finn/Lacky until all matters relative to the scheme for the entire catchment, in Northern Ireland and Ireland, are finalised. An announcement in conjunction with the authorities in Northern Ireland will be made shortly.
