Vol. 397 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Transport.

John V. Farrelly

Ceist:

179 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education the number of pupils for whom her Department provide transport from Oldcastle to the new community school in Kells, County Meath; the times of collection and return; when this service was initiated; the person(s) who initiated the request; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The Deputy is understood to be referring to pupils who travel from Oldcastle to Kells via Virginia on a Bus Éireann scheduled service. This service is part of the public service network in the area and does not operate under the terms of the school transport scheme. Pupils who avail of this service do so as ordinary passengers and pay the normal fare for young people.
