Ceist:

38 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Defence if he will outline his policy regarding the making available of assistance to developing countries in the development of training or other facilities for security personnel; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Mr. Lenihan

Certain training facilities for officers and cadets of the Zambian armed forces were provided by my Department in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Any request for assistance from my Department in the areas indicated by the Deputy would have to be considered on its merits.
