Vol. 398 No. 4

Written Answers. - Statutory Reports.

John Bruton

Ceist:

74 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance, in respect of each licensed archaeological excavation in the last 25 years in respect of which a statutory report has not yet been filed (a) the date of the excavation, (b) the archaeologist in charge, (c) the stated object of the excavation in the application for a licence, (d) if any public funds were made available towards the cost of the excavation and, if so, the amount, (e) if any action has been taken by him to obtain a report of the excavation by legal or other means and (f) if the objects discovered in the excavation have been lodged in the National Museum; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information as sought is not readily available. The cost of staff time which would be required to produce the requested information would be prohibitive. If the Deputy has a particular case in which he is interested he should let me know and I will see if I can facilitate him.
