224 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if an official from her Department has visited Thomastown national school, Thomastown, Golden, County Tipperary to inspect the condition of the school windows, the original report on same being unsatisfactory to the school's board of management; if all the school's windows will be replaced; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
On 13 March 1990 my Department sanctioned a grant towards the cost of repairs to the windows of Thomastown national school, County Tipperary, following inspection and a report from its professional advisers in the District Office of Public Works. The school authorities have now requested grant-aid for the complete replacement of the windows and my Department is considering this in consultation with the Office of Public Works. A decision will be conveyed to the school authorities as early as possible.
