Ceist:

37 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education the status of a directive, issued by the Archbishop of Dublin, purporting to exercise a patron's function, in overruling the decisions of the boards of management of Scoil Mochua, St. Brigid's Convent and Scoil na Mainistreach, Celbridge, County Kildare, as to the allocation of pupil places in those schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I would refer the Deputy to replies I gave to Questions Nos. 50, 115, 71, 72, 96 and 97 on 8 and 14 March, 10 May and 23 May, respectively. I understand that the Deputy, along with other local Deputies, has written to the patron with a view to having the difficulties in relation to the operation of a common enrolment policy for the schools in question further examined and that the patron has responded to the Deputy.
