Ceist:125 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education the reason a grant, which was sanctioned by her Department under the recreational grants scheme, was not received by Duagh GAA Club, County Kerry.

A grant of £5,000 was provisionally allocated in April 1988 to Duagh GAA Club, County Kerry, under my Department's capital grant scheme for the provision of recreational facilities. It was a condition of the grant allocation that unless work commenced within three months the grants was liable to be withdrawn. The club did not submit the necessary documentation despite reminders from my Department and as there was no evidence of progress on the project the grant was withdrawn on the 17 October 1989.
