Vol. 401 No. 4

Written Answers. - Pollution Control Grants.

Eamon Gilmore

Ceist:

113 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the total number of applications to date from farmers for grants for pollution control works; the number which have been approved; the total amount of the approved grants; the number of grants which have been paid; the total amount paid to date; and the distribution of applications approvals and payments between disadvantaged and other areas.

The following is the position as at 30 May 1990 in relation to applications for grants under the special schemes for the control of farmyard pollution.

No. of Applications

No. Approved

Amount of Grants Approved

No. of Grants paid

The amount paid to date refers to the cases where the works have been completed to the satisfaction of the Department.
Statistics are kept on a county basis. As the disadvantaged areas include parts of counties it would put undue pressure on limited staff resources to provide the geographical breakdown requested by the Deputy.
