Vol. 401 No. 4

Written Answers. - Land Registry Query.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

148 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Justice if papers lodged in the Land Registry in February, 1990 on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny have yet been received; and, if so, the reason no acknowledgment or dealing number has yet issued to the solicitor.

I am informed by the Registar of Titles that a query regarding the correct location of a registered property was received in the Land Registry on 16 February, 1990 from the solicitor acting on behalf of the person referred to in the question. Receipt of the query was not acknowledged by the registry at the time, apparently due to an oversight. The query has received and continues to receive attention in the registry. It is not possible to say at this stage when the necessary investigation will be completed.

I have also been informed that the Land Registry have written to the applicant's solicitor, giving the up-to-date position and apologising for not normally acknowledging receipt of the query on 16 February 1990.
