158 Mr. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Justice if he has satisfied himself with the system whereby members of the Garda Síochána are regularly deployed to authenticate farmers dole claims for the Department of Social Welfare; whether he accepts that this function is not an appropriate one for those whose main role is to prevent and detect crime; and if he will propose a change of procedure to relieve gardaí on this duty.
