Ceist:

187 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for the Environment if a 100 per cent grant was sought from his Department for (a) the maintenance of the road and/or footpaths in Main Street, Leixlip, County Kildare and (b) the reconstruction of same, with or without new surface water drains; if so, when; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

With regard to the system of funding for works on footpaths on the N4 in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 198 on the 3 July. The question of an application to my Department does not arise in such cases.

A formal request for funding of road reconstruction works at this location has not been received in the Department.
