Ceist:

217 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment the progress which has been made to date in 1990 to provide a new sewer at Patrick Street/Nicholas Street, Dublin 8 in order to eliminate pollution carried down by the River Poddle.

Work is currently underway on the section of the sewer which is to be constructed by open cut excavation. Tenders for the tunnel section are under consideration in my Department.
