Written Answers. - Kildare Sewerage Schemes.

Ceist:

214 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment when work will commence on the Maynooth South sewerage scheme, County Kildare, having regard to submissions made to his Department by Kildare County Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have approved the tender for this scheme. It is a matter for Kildare County Council to finalise the contract arrangements so that work can begin as soon as possible.

215 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment when work will commence on the Kilcullen sewerage scheme, County Kildare; if all necessary documentation has been submitted to his Department by Kildare County Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In January 1990, Kildare County Council were requested to supply a detailed preliminary report based on general proposals already submitted to my Department. The submission of this report is awaited.

216 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment when he will sanction contract documents in respect of Robertstown sewerage scheme, County Kildare, which were sent to his Department on 10 July 1989; if work will proceed in the current year or in 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Contract documents for the Robertstown sewerage scheme were approved on 8 June 1990 and Kildare County Council were authorised to seek tenders with a view to permitting work on the scheme to begin as soon as possible. The submission of the recommended tender is awaited.
