Vol. 402 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dogs and Cats Home.

Pat Lee

Ceist:

218 Mr. Lee asked the Minister for the Environment the subvention, if any, which was given by his Department to the Dogs and Cats Home, Grand Canal Quay, Dublin 2, in the years 1988, 1989 and 1990; and if he will outline the amount given.

No subvention was made in these years by my Department to the Dogs and Cats Home. Payments were, however, made or allocated in each of these years to the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in relation to the operations of its Central Dog Control Service in the administration of the Control of Dogs Act, 1986. The amounts are £30,000 for 1988, £40,000 for 1989 and £40,000 for 1990.
