Ceist:156 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Justice the reason for the delay in expediting a land registration for persons (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when same will be completed.
Written Answers. - Land Registration Delay.
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the application referred to is for registration of title which was lodged in the Land Registry on 13 July 1990. Due to the pressure of work generally there is, at present, a delay in dealing with applications of this nature.
I am also informed, however, that it is the policy of the Land Registry to try, as far as possible, to expedite cases in which it can be established that special circumstances of urgency exist. I understand that this was established in the case in question and that registration of title was completed on 16 November 1990.
