Ceist:44 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Finance if he will make arrangements to have a £450 rebate of income tax, due to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford, paid to him before Christmas.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that reviews of the taxpayer's liability for the income tax years 1988-89 and 1989-90 showed overpayments of £496.11 and £488.76 respectively. Every effort will be made to ensure that the taxpayer will receive the cheques before Christmas.
