86 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Education whether she will sanction the extra accommodation required for September 1991 at St. Thomas the Apostle primary school. Laurel Lodge, Dublin 15; alternatively if she will approve the site and its servicing as suggested in correspondence from the school management dated 23 October 1990; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
As the Deputy is aware I have approved a permanent extension to Laurel Lodge national school (St. Thomas the Apostle), Dublin 15, and I understand that works have commenced on site.
The school authorities have requested further additional accommodation and this is being considered in the context of enrolment projections and the available capital. A decision in this regard will be conveyed to the school authorities at the earliest date.
My Department's professional advisers are of the view that no significant savings would arise from the school's proposals dated 23 October 1990 in relation to site services.
