Vol. 403 No. 9

Written Answers. - Raheen (Wexford) School.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

89 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Education the current position in relation to the construction of new classroom facilities at a primary school (details supplied) in County Wexford with particular reference to the next stage in the process; and when the construction will commence.

Brendan Howlin

Ceist:

90 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education when the urgently needed extension to Raheen national school, County Wexford will be sanctioned by her Department; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 89 and 90 together.

The question of the provision of a permanent classroom extension and a scheme of improvements at Raheen national school, County Wexford is being considered in the context of the available capital. I am fully aware of the situation in relation to this school, and I will convey a decision to the school authorities at the earliest possible date.

I am not in a position to say at this stage when works might commence.
