Vol. 404 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Dublin Flood Relief.

Michael Joe Cosgrave

Ceist:

158 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for the Environment when he will make available the necessary moneys to Dublin County Council, estimated at £2.3 million, in order to have urgent and necessary works carried out on the Baldoyle flood relief scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Seán Ryan

Ceist:

165 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department have received a recommendation for approval of a tender for preliminary site investigation work for the Baldoyle flood relief scheme, Dublin 13; and if he will outline his proposals for this scheme.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 158 and 165 together.

A tender recommendation in respect of the site investigation contract for this scheme has been received and is under examination in my Department. However the submission of further technical information by Dublin County Council in relation to the recommendation is awaited.

The design for the flood relief scheme must await the outcome of the site investigation. The question of providing funds for the main civil works contract does not arise at this stage.
