Ceist:170 Mr. Lowry asked the Minister for the Environment the funds which will be made available to Tipperary North Riding County Council for continuation of work on the Roscrea by-pass; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Phase 1 of the Roscrea by-pass has been completed.
The cost of phase 2 of the scheme, which will be financed from road grants, is tentatively estimated at £3.2 million at 1989 prices. I have confirmed a compulsory purchase order in respect of the properties necessary for phase 2 which is scheduled to reach construction stage in 1992.
