66 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline the amounts of money, which have been distributed by his Department from EC Structural Funds to County Tipperary in 1990; the names of the projects which were aided by EC Structural Funds; the amount involved in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Under the Community Support Framework, agreed with the EC Commission, EC Structural Fund aid is provided in respect of sectoral operational programmes which have been drawn up on a national basis. A sub-regional breakdown of the expenditure involved has been prepared and a copy has been placed in the Dáil Library. It is not possible, however, to provide information on a county by county basis.
The operational programmes contain details of proposed expenditure and EC Structural Fund aid by programme, sub-programme and by measure. However, the selection of individual projects within each measure is a matter for the Departments and agencies responsible for implementation of the programmes concerned.
